Three Hole flyby

Any day on which one sees a Tristar, 2 VC10s, a Nimrod and a Vampire has to be considered a success.

Super 727 Saturday

Picking my way back through Lammas park from the 20th Ealing Beer Festival to the folks house for lunch I spot this beauty on approach to 27R

This is my first sighting of HZ-SKI, another re-engined private 727

Classic Twin Saturday

While waiting for a bus in South London I hear the distinctive roar of a pair of Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines and looking up I see an Aviogenex B737-200Adv YU-ANP on approach to Heathrow. What a beauty!

Classic Trijet Wednesday

Sitting at home watching telly on Wed I notice and odd looking plane arriving over London from the north, as it draws closer the unmistakable form of a DC-10 reveals itself. From underneath it's hard to tell for sure but I believe this is Biman Bangladesh flight BG015 from Dhaka. Normally an A310 is used for this route but over the summer it seems the classic '10 is sometimes substituted. A beautiful old bird and an increasingly rare sight over London.

Faster, higher, stubbier.

King Abdullah of Saudia Arabia flies in to town on this beautiful 747SP HZ-HM1B. Sadly it's routed from the south so it doesn't pass overhead.

Classic Widebody Tuesday

Returning from lunch I see this Iran air 747-200 operating as IR711 from Tehran. The last 747-200 operator into Heathrow as far as I know.

A Modern Classic

Always nice to see a Trijet even if it is the updated MD-11, got a good close look at this one last Sunday (2nd September) during a pleasantly drunk afternoon at the Boston Manor Festival..
